"Glover"
is a multi-disciplinary production artist, and self-confessed academic.
Originally from Scotland, Glover worked in professional theatre as a lighting and sound technician
at venues including, The Strand (London’s West End), The King’s
Theatre (Glasgow), The Gateway (Chester, UK), The Edinburgh Festival (Scotland),
The South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC), The Ko Festival (Amherst, MA),
The Reginald F. Lewis (Baltimore, MD) and three years as a Production Manager
on international cruise ships.
Glover has a undergraduate degree in Theatre, Psychology and Live Art from
Chester Univesity where he was awarded the Bradbury Prize for Drama in 1997.
After pursuing post-graduate degrees in both teaching and
Information Technolgy he completed an MFA program in Theatre Arts at Towson University.
He is a Fellow of the National Critic’s Institute at the O'Neill Theatre Centre.
Most recently Glover has been concentrating on integrating film techniques
into his Performance and visual Art works. Exploring the objectivity of documentary film
making Glover has made several short documentaries for the WordBRIDGE Playwrights'
Laboratory and three full-length video documents for Towson University.
Glover is also finding new ways to integrate sculpture techniques and forms into Performance Art.
He recently curated his first sculpture exhibition in Maryland.
After completing his MFA thesis Glover intends to find a teaching position or
artist's residency which will allow him to continue his explorations with
film, digital media, performance art, audio reproduction and manipulation,
live performance, philosophy, writing, sculpture, religious studies, semiotics,
Post-Structuralist theory, popular culture and audience psychology. Or he intends to find a nice
quiet cabin in the woods near a stream and forget all about that stuff. |
