When asked about the character of Godot, Beckett replied,
"I know no more about the characters than what they say,
what they do, and what happens to them." 1

I feel like that about art.
We can all point to major charcters in art. We know what they say and do. We know the history, we know what happens to them. Hell, we even know the theory 'why', but are we any further forward in knowing what this all "means". What is it to make art? To be an artist? What differentiates art from not-art - and why should we care?

Humanity hasn't come up with any definitive answer so far. Perhaps, like Didi and Gogo, we are simply passing the time while waiting.
